Dormer

DormerPic of the week 21/2/16

I have resisted the temptation to post a hold load of pics of the build as pic of the week (would have been easy to do so) but felt that this one warranted inclusion. It shows the creation of the dormer window, with the view of the Tor in the distance.  A significant moment in the project.

Snap!

Me and SamSam is growing too fast (and too much!)

We clearly share a common taste in “leisure wear”

I reckon I’ve still got half a foot on him, but he’s catching up fast!

On the loo!

How to spend a Tuesday evening in January. After 24 years, the romance is still alive!

Bought a bog in a box and a basin from B&Q. Livin’ the dream!

Hedge Trimming

(although the pic was taken on 9/1/16!)

Chopped down a branch of the tree in the bottom right corner of the garden as it was obscuring the morning sun, then also trimmed down the long shoots of pyracantha that were doing likewise. (Very thorny!).  Still all needs tidying up, but was a rare dry day, an enjoyable couple of hours pottering in the garden in January.

Only blight was two dollops of cat cr@p on the lawn – seems my cat scarer is not as effective as I would have hoped. Now investigating prickly strips to put across the fence top and wall. The war continues!

Break Through!

Breakthrough (768x1024)Pic of the week: 9/1/16

Had to be this – the breakthrough between the new build and old house happened this week.

Not the most artistic of snaps, but a significant event.

The pic shows the “doorway” made to connect the upstairs of the newbuild with the box room (which will become my study space) of the old house.

Glimmers of the end are begin to drift into sight, but mustn’t get too excited at this stage – still much to do (and spend!)
