Tickets

Pic of the week 20/11/22

This week I snagged tickets for two events next year. Early in the week, Deacon Blue announced a UK tour, playing Cardiff on Saturday 23rd September. Ever since we saw them 4 years ago in November 2018, I’ve wanted to see them again – we were due to see them in 2020, but Covid put paid to that – so I’m already looking forward to seeing them in September.  Tickets were circa £45 each.

And today I bagged a Sunday ticket for Glastonbury. Becky was originally going to come, but earlier this week she was told of a 30 year uni reunion on the same weekend, so I shall be going alone again this year.

Last night Becky and I went to see G4 at Wells Cathedral. It was good, but perhaps a little too polished, a little too sterile. I didn’t wake up this morning with one of their songs ringing through my head, which is normally the case after I’ve been to a music event.  But any night out with Becky is a good night out.

Sunday stroll

A treat today – as it is Becky’s birthday tomorrow, she took both today and tomorrow off work so I have had a lovely Sunday. sharing her company.

No run this morning, as we had decided to go for a walk – looking at the forecast (sun and unseasonably mild temperatures) last night we had thought about going to the coast, but waking up to grey skies and strong winds, we decided against that, and have local amble instead.  As the morning wore on, the grey lifted to bless us with beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures; the wind abated a bit, but was still noticeable as we headed down to the weir on the Brue, walked along one bank, and back along the other. It was wet underfoot, and clearly good mushroom conditions as we spotted several large fungi as we walked along the north bank.

We returned for lunch and a chilled afternoon, not doing much – a great way to spend a November Sunday.

Home Alone

I’ve been home alone for much of this week whilst the rest of the family have been enjoying foreign adventures.  Sophie and Becky went to Milan for a few days, and Sam is currently in Morocco, where he met this camel called Mabroc.

Back here in the UK, it has been grey, wet and windy, with little to commend it. other than I got my flu jab yesterday. On Wednesday evening, I sensed the first hint of a sore throat and have been feeling a bit under the weather since – I even took a Covid test on Saturday (before my flu jab) to check: it was negative.

Anyway, little else to report – at least next week it is beginning to look a little drier, this week has been wet, wet, wet.
